How To Remove Blood Stains With Ammonia

Ammonia is a strong cleaner, and is very good at removing blood stains.  However you should always test this method on a small discrete part of the fabric before you begin, as ammonia can take the colour out of fabrics which are not colourfast.

What You Will Need

  • Ammonia
  • Cold Water
  • White Paper Towels

How To Make The Ammonia Solution

Mix 1 part ammonia to 3 parts water.

Instructions

  1. Pour some onto the stain and gently rub to work the solution into it.
  2. Rinse with cold water.
  3. Blot the stain with white paper towels.
  4. Repeat if necessary.
