How To Remove Ink Stains From Carpet and Upholstery Using Acetone

What You Will Need

  • Acetone
  • Cotton Buds
  • Cold Water

Instructions

  1. Dip a clean cotton swab into the acetone.
  2. Dab at the ink mark with the cotton swab.
  3. Repeat this each time with a fresh cotton swab, as many times as needed.
  4. Dip another fresh cotton swab into cold water and dab the area to remove the acetone from the fabric.
  5. Allow the area to dry.

Tips and Warnings

Be sure to test in a hidden spot before applying rubbing alcohol to the permanent ink stain as acetone can be very damaging to some fibres.
