Blood can be difficult to remove from a carpet, this is due because carpets are made up from many different bristles and the blood clings to them. A poultice can be made with unseasoned meat tenderizer and water. The poultice attaches to each of the bristles and lifts the blood off.
What You Will Need
- Meat Tenderizer
- Water
- Saucer or Side Plate
- Clean Cloth
How to make the poultice
- Place some meat tenderizer in a shallow dish (the amount depends on how big the stain is).
- Gradually mix in water 1/2 tsp at a time to form a thick paste.
Instructions
- Apply the poultice to the blood stain and allow to sit for 15-20 min.
- Scrape away and discard the poultice residue using a butter knife or similar blunt tool.
- Blot the stain with a damp clean cloth.
- Rinse the affected area with clean water.
- Blot any excess water with a clean dry cloth.
- If the stain remains repeat this process.
